Abstract
Goal: This paper aims to shed light on the figure and work of Hamid Dizdar (1907–1967) as an exceptional bibliophile, writer and cultural worker, with special emphasis on the acquisition of his personal library, which was realized in 1968 thanks to the involvement of individuals and institutions from Tešanj. The paper seeks to preserve the memory of Dizdar and point to the significance of his library as part of the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Methodology: Descriptive and historical research method was used, with analysis of archival documents, specialised literature, commission reports and briefs. Data was systemized chronologically and thematically with the aim to present the context of creation, acquisition and preservation of Hamid Dizdar’s Library.
