Abstract
The written cultural heritage, has a long list of Turkish and Arabic books and manuscripts, in many areas of human life, requiring careful analysis and proper approach in an age of digitization. Among them, there is a translation of the works of „Muhtesib” by Abdullah Šizevi, which provides a more detailed view of the market inspectorate in the Ottoman period, and it was applied in our country too. This work describes in detail the laws, obligations and responsibilities of retailers and health professionals, in terms of the application of market and hygienic regulations. Chapters considering health regulations, ethics and education of persons engaged in treatment, are of particular significance and represent an important source for the study of general and health culture.
