Current Research Information System in Bosnia and Herzegovina (E-CRIS.BH) and Bibliographies of Researchers Within COBISS

Abstract

Both the application of new technologies and the Internet have brought changes in libraries that are becoming important element in development of science, education, research activity, and economic and technical development of society. For its users the Library-Information System COBISS has offered a Web application E-CRIS which enables setting up of research and institutions' databases within national library-information systems necessary for compilation of biographies within COBISS.  E-CRIS.BH is a research  information system of Bosnia and Herzegovina that is connected with COBISS.BH database.

Researchers’ bibliography is a web application that enables compilation of personal bibliographies for researchers, and which requires that bibliographical entries in COBIB database along with the ordinary bibliographical data contain researcher’s code and identification mark for the type of a document.

Researcher's code (author's unique identification) is allocated to each researcher and institution upon registration in E-CRIS. Compilation of author' bibliography, based on unique methodology and criteria for assessment of results of research activity, is a part of library activity that will become more significant in the future.
