Abstract
This article sets out the results of a study of one of the finest manuscripts of mediaeval Bosnia – Hval’s Miscellany, conducted in the University Library in Bologna. A synthetising overview of studies to date and comparative analysis of the original and facsimile editions were used to detect and reinterpret certain problematic areas relating to the Miscellany. First to be addressed is the latest treatment and storage of the codex in the Library. This is followed by a critical approach to the evaluation of the original manuscript as compared with the facsimile. A separate chapter deals with the sequence of the folios in Hval’s Miscellany, the collaboration of two miniaturists, and the technical aspects of illumination.
