National Library of Serbia and Culture of Dematerialization: Supplements to NLS Report on Digitization: Vision, Concepts, Results, Plans

Abstract

Digital Library of the National Library of Serbia (NLS) has been under construction since 2002. Following year, Strategic Document on Digitization was adopted, which stipulated the aim of NLS and digitization priorities. In 2005, a separate department for digitization was founded – Department for Development of Digital NLS. In 2006, a data base for digital documents was created. Today, digital library contains over half a million digital documents organized in more than 50 digital collections which are available online http://www.digital.nbs.bg.ac.yu/.
