Abstract
Placards represent material that we find in libraries, archives and museums. By analyzing collection of placards in these institutions, one can notice that they are treated differently. In some institutions they are collected, inventoried and placed in stacks (archives and museums), while in the National and University Library within Collection of Graphics, they are professionally processed according to existing standards. There are different methods for preservation of this material. Placards are valuable documents of our cultural heritage, and we should treat them accordingly. Since digital preservation proved to be the best method for preservation of old material, we need to realize projects and collect resources in order to digitally preserve them. Exchange of this kind of material, between these institutions, would contribute to better cooperation and stock building. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
