The Role of National and University Library in the Preservation and Reconstruction of the Documentary Heritage

Abstract

This article gives an overview of the protection, preservation and reconstruction of destroyed collections of the National and University Library of B&H (NUL). The main goal of these activities is to reconstitute the documentary heritage. In this process there are many unsolved problems such as status, legislative, finances and lack of library space. The process of planned and completed preservation and reconstruction of documentary heritage can be speeded up only by positive solution ofthese problems.
