Abstract
The role of user group is significantly changed and complexified parallel to complexifying user requirements. Complexity of relevant data retrieval and avoiding stockpiling of unnecessary data are becoming challenge for contemporary librarians. Fast and effective searching and the use of future digitized collection are defined by users themselves. Users have to participate actively in designing digital collections, from the beginning of planning and throughout the process of digitization. This paper emphasizes the importance of user group analysis as one of required steps in planning digital contents. It is also stressed that users should be included in the process of defining priorities in designing digital collections.
