Breda Karun

Abstract

Kulturna baština, važni segment kulture, osim ustaljene tradicionalne, danas sve više poprima i političke, ekonomske i druge dimenzije.

Cultural heritage – common denominator for libraries, archives and museums

In past, cultural heritage was associated with its educational, ecological, cultural, esthetic and social impact. We should get used to change of understanding culture which becomes immediate creator of economic benefit and not mere summary of an activity which produces prestigious values outside economy. Cultural heritage, an important part of culture, except traditional dimension, assimilate also political, economic and other dimensions. Sources of cultural heritage are preserved by libraries, archives and museums which have an important task of developing partnerships and cooperation with a view to broad access to valuable material. As an example of good practice, the author demonstrates Kamra portal which is implemented in Slovenia.
