Rad donosi osnovna znanja o bibliografiji od njenih začetaka do danas. Dati su važniji momenti razvoja bibliografije, porijeklo naziva, definicije, predmet, zadaci, odnos prema bibliotekarstvu i nauci. S obzirom na instruktivni karakter rada, dat je detaljniji pregled izrade bibliografije s posebnim osvrtom na standardizaciju.

It gives some important moments of bibliography development, etymology, definitions, subjects, aims, relations with librarianship, and science in general. The work has instructive character and that is why it gives a detailed overview of creating bibliography, with special review of standardization.
