Abstract
Revision is a systematic examination of library stock done for the purpose of determining its defacto situation. Revision can be general and partial, and is conducted in specific periods of time depending on fond size. There are four phases of a revision: preparation for revision, direct inspection of library stock and comparison with arranged lists and library material; compilation of documentation and analysis of collected data. Revision of library material is an important factor in organization and protection of library stock, since it enables writing off of old and damaged material and ensuring space for new and actual library material.
