Abstract

 

University Library „Svetozar Markovic“ is the central library of the University of Belgrade and home for all university libraries and academic libraries in Serbia, as well as special libraries in research institutions in the territory of Central Serbia. It collects, preserves and cares about the further use of the unique record of human creativity. Enabling access to recorded knowledge, encouraging and supporting the flow of information, UBSM participate in pedagogical, scientific research, professional and artistic work of the Belgrade and Serbian academic public. It is the guardian of the written scientific and cultural heritage of the Belgrade University, and because of its long history, preserve and part of the cultural heritage of Serbia. University library in Belgrade is an educational center with its collections, services, and library and IT skills to participate in educational and scientific-research University, the intellectual and professional development of students, as well as the lifelong education of all its users.
