Abstract

The motivation children to read results from current educational concept for lifelong learning in the framework of developing of information society literacy. When everything i s being in focus of education and learning, and when motivation to read becomes one of the main library goals with information-based literacy, all kinds of libraries could be have got programmes created in specific way of stimulation to read with the aim for all the ages, within its programmes. This paper endeavours to raise awareness about theoretical and practic problems connected with attemption to read with a view to contribute of understanding of importance its role and complexity of reading process, because there is failed more concrete recommendation and scientific based and professionally evaluated programmes which could be substantiate as a model of curriculum development being finally as integral part of compulsory education and educational processes, also pre-school education and education system as well as national education curriculum. Motivation to read isn't the same as teaching to read, but it's also complex pedagogical and psychological work which needs knowing of many general and special pedagogical, psychological, didactic and methodical skills, and creating of library programmes to motivate children to read becomes serious and complex task which involves interdisciplinary approach.
